  1. Lana was Dick’s THIRD wife. Jill was his second wife and the mother of his son Jimmy. Jimmy turned 27 in January 2019. Jimmy used to play with his Dad in the band quite often. Dick was so incredibly proud of his son back then! The day Jimmy was born Dick was at the hospital with Jill. He called me the day Jimmy was born, He was beyond ecstatic! Yes, it wasn’t a pretty divorce but he dealt with it like a champ. WHERE did you get some of the false information in this article? Please be sure your facts are straight.

  2. I saw The King Dick Dale in Fort Collins Co. at a venu named The Aggie. It was an awesome show. I think it was 2015. I cant swear to that but I know that has to be close. I am so fortunate to have takenmy gopro camera. I got a big piece of his set on video. The guy was so energetic. I had a hard time believing his age.
I met his wife that night. She was there selling all the Dick Dale swag. I remember getting a good chuckle because she was wearing a bright yellow shirt that said DICKS WIFE. She was a hotty and this was her way of keeping all the village drunks at their distance. I told her, Love the shirt, and she smiled from ear to ear.
This was the one and only time I ever saw Dick Dale and I was at the show because my oldest son asked me to go. He was 20 years old t the time and totally into that sound. Im very happy he talked me into going. He was no doubt the King Of Surf. God bless and R.I.P. Dick

  3. my next door neighbor used to be Jim Masoner from “The Lively Ones”. That was in Anaheim, CA in the 80’s and 90”s. he would jam pretty much every night and he told great stories about back in the day

  4. I saw DD back in the 90’S at the Cabooze Bar in Minneapolis Minnesota. I think his son Jimmie was drummer back then. He was Great back then at his age. There was nobody as fast as DD back then and never will be. I remember he always had a pouch of guitar pics because he would wear so many out or break them during his performances, because he only played the “heavy strings” and used the heaviest strings made (spiral wound). I will never forget him and the energy he displayed.
