Growing up Matt Kean spent most of his childhood in the Wahroonga area. Following high school, he went to Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview and attained a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Kean also has a graduate diploma from the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In college, he was elected as the Student Representative Council and as the SRC Executive Member for the Haymarket Campus.
