Julia Barnhill is well-known as the wife of Congressman-elect Luke Letlow who passed away at the age of 41 with the cause of death being coronavirus.
Mr. Letlow, who revealed on Dec. 18 that he tested positive for Covid-19, was at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport in the intensive care unit. As reported by the Monroe News-Star, the family said in a statement,
The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,
A statement from the family along with funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
Cause of Death
On his Facebook profile on December 18, Letlow confirmed his diagnosis, writing that he was “at home resting, following all CDC guidelines, quarantine protocols, and the recommendations of my doctors.”
Days later, before a statement from his office on December 23 announced that he had been moved to the Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center, Letlow confirmed that he was seeking treatment at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe.

In a statement at the time, Dr. G.E. Ghali, chancellor of LSU Health Shreveport, said that Letlow was in “stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.”
Late Luke Letlow was scheduled to be sworn into Congress on Sunday.
