The family member of 24-year-old Richard Russell is heartbroken and shocked at the same time as their son Richard Russell ‘ a good and quite employee’ is no more with them.
“I’ve got a lot of people that care about me. It’s going to disappoint them to hear that I did this.”
These were the final word of Seattle Airport Worker Richard Russell before the plane crashed at 8.47pm into Ketron Island, which is located 25 miles south-west of the airport. Richard Russell was famously known as ‘the pilot Saturday morning’ and he was the sole victim involved in the crash.

One of Richard Russell coworker Rick Christenson who is a retired Horizon Air operations supervisor following his stolen plane crash said;
“I feel really bad for Richard and for his family. I hope they can make it through this,”
Richard Russell family also were deeply saddened and shocked. In a statement Richard Russell family said;
“It may seem difficult for those watching at home to believe, but Beebo was a warm, compassionate man,” the statement said. “As the voice recordings show, Beebo’s intent was not to harm anyone. He was right in saying that there are so many people who have loved him.”
Seattle Airport employee Richard Russell is assumed to have taken a twin-turboprop Bombardier Q400 which was parked for the night. Richard Russell then took off from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 7.32pm flew a couple of miles and ended up crashing at the Ketron Island. Though the crash is considered to be a suicide, more details are yet to be followed.
