Despite pleading guilty to a charge of common assault, world–renowned tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been miraculously exonerated from all charges in the ACT Magistrates Court!
In 2021, Kyrgios was accused of committing a crime when he violently shoved his former girlfriend, Chiara Passari, out of the way of an Uber door in a fit of rage, as she attempted to stop him from fleeing the scene of an explosive argument.
Earlier, Kyrgios pleaded for the charge to be dismissed due to his deteriorating mental health, but it was unfortunately denied by the court who determined his depression did not reach a severe enough level.
Nick Kyrgios then plead guilty to one count of ferocious assault in relation to the incident, leaving no doubt in anyone‘s mind that he was guilty of an unprovoked act. Later, Magistrate Beth Campbell’s ruling in the court hearing was nothing short of a miracle! Dismissing the charge, she declared that no conviction should be recorded.
“If you don‘t get out of the way, I‘m going to knock you out“.
Documents tendered to the court revealed on January 10, 2021, Kyrgios and Ms Passari were standing outside the Canberra apartment block where Ms Passari lived. After a heated exchange of words, Kyrgios jumped into an Uber, but Ms Passari blocked his exit, refusing to move away from the door.
The argument only escalated as Ms Passari continued to demand Kyrgios exit the vehicle, with Kyrgios eventually threatening to “knock her out“ if she didn‘t get out of the way.
The Uber driver was unable to leave until Kyrgios was allowed to close the door, leading to an explosive confrontation between the two.
