Toronto-based controversial YouTuber Jason Ethier claims that he lied about his girlfriend’s death in a car accident in a video.

On Sunday, Mr. Ethier uploaded a lengthy video where he admitted the entire thing was a ploy to gain more subscribers. In the clip, he also claimed that his girlfriend Alexia Marano is now “trying to ruin [his] life.”

The YouTuber alleges that Ms. Marano filed the report to police against him. And that, she confessed about Jason assaulting her and police issuing a warrant for his arrest.

However, according to BuzzFeed News, Toronto Police Service disclosed that there was no arrest warrant on file for Ethier.
