Speaking to BBC News, Chance the Rapper explained why he is supporting Amara Enyia,

“I want to work with somebody that’s about change, somebody that’s about our community, somebody that’s about equity, somebody that’s about fairness”

Enyia’s proposed agendas revolve around “promoting economic growth” and “reducing corruption”. She wants to establish a public bank in Chicago and “help communities – especially challenged communities – unlock their civic imagination”.

Amara Enyia and her team appreciated Kanye West for his “generous action” and the donation was used to repay the debt to the Illinois State Board of Elections from her previous election.
