Renowned Australian chef Tony Bilson is no more, the Godfather of modern Australian cuisine Tony Bilson died peacefully in his home on Thursday night.
76-year old Tony Bilson has been touted as one of the nation’s ‘greats’, famous for his French-inspired takes on Australian dishes.

Chef Tony Bilson cause of death is due to cancer!
In 2016, Bilson opened up about his prostate cancer diagnosis.
‘I never had any doubts that I’d get through it. You know, I dealt with the whole thing by thinking of it as an amusing rather than dramatic experience,’
Chef Tony Bilson famously regarded food and wine as ‘an essential element of a nation’s culture’ and had a career spanning more than 40 years.
Tony ran restaurants in Melbourne before moving to Sydney in 1972 where he began opening restaurants throughout the city.
Bilson is survived by his second wife, Amanda, and four adult children.
