Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend Cerissa Laura Riley were accused of sexually assaulting and drugging two women in 2016 and recently the victims cased the file. Shortly after the accusation, other six potential victims came up to the authorities.
However, the plot gets deeper as the prosecutors say there might be hundreds of potential victims.
On defendants’ phones, “thousands and thousands” of videos of highly intoxicated women were found. Tony Rackauckas- Orange County District Attorney- says,
“Based on this evidence, we believe that there might be many unidentified victims out there.”
On Tuesday’s news conference, Rackauckas further speculated, Robicheaux and his girlfriend Riley met those women in a bar and gave them a large dose of alcohol or drugs and lured them into Robicheaux’s apartment.
However, the attorneys of defendants rebuff this conviction by stating,
“All allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend Cerissa Riley.”
Nonetheless, the evidence says quite the opposite. Together with his girlfriend, Robicheaux was arrested with “date-rape drugs” like cocaine, MDMA, and GHB. In addition, two unregistered illegal guns were found in the couple’s possession.
Currently, Robicheaux and his girlfriend are released on $100k bail. The case would be formalized in court on October 24.
If the defendants lose the case, Robicheaux would be prisoned for 40 years and his girlfriend Riley for 30 years and 8 months.
