Julius Naranjo is a filmmaker, coach, and former weightlifter. He is known for competing in the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
He is also well recognized for being the boyfriend and coach of a professional weighlifter, Hidilyn Diaz. On 26 July, 2021, Hidilyn won the gold medal in the women’s 55kg weightlifting competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She became the first athlete from the Philippines to win gold at the Olympics.

Julius Naranjo was born on 14 June 1991 in Tamuning, Guam, U.S. He has three younger siblings. His father is Filipino wheras his mother is Japanese. As for his educational background, Julius graduated from the University of Guam with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotions with a minor in Nutrition in 2013.
He is a professional coach, weightlifter, and filmmaker. He was a member of Guam’s National Weightlifting Team. He competed in the 62kg weight category for Guam at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Unfortunately, Julius had to retire from weightlifting because of his back injury.
