Longest serving coach of Perth Glory’s Kenny Lowe has been fired. The decision that was taken by Owner Tony Sage came after the club failed to make into the finale for the first time in three years.
Tony Sage made the shocking decision while on a business trip to London, and the news was made official by chief executive Peter Filopoulos on Wednesday. Talking about the shocking fire on coach Kenny Lowe Peter Filopoulos in his statement said;
“We just felt generally as part of the review that after four and a half years, we needed a new fresh approach in the coaching ranks,” “We never shied away that we wanted a top-four finish at the beginning of the year and we felt the squad should have done better than what it actually did in the end.
he also added;
“Kenny is an incredible man. And it’s incredibly raw and emotional. He needs to process this. “But we’re delighted Kenny will remain at the club to play an instrumental role.”
After the last game fans of Perth Glory’s were all hooting “we want Kenny out” at the nib stadium.
Coach Kenny Lowe took over in late 2013 after the dismissal of Alistair Edwards and he also led the club during a tumultuous period, Kenny Lowe was also promoted to the full-time role.
But in the year 2015, the club hit rock bottom after being fined $269,000 in the final after announced guilty of mass salary cap breaches.
