LaChina Robinson was born on October 25, 1980, in Alexandria, Virginia. She was raised by her mother named Bajan Doll. It seems her mother and father separated when she was just a child. LaChina is very close with her four siblings and they lived with their mother in Virginia.
She was also close with her father who lived in Boston and often attended family gatherings with 11 more half-brothers and half-sisters. According to her Instagram account, her father owned a black newspaper called, New England Black Weekly.

After four years of college, LaChina joined the ACC administration offices for one full season. Later, she worked as a special assistant to the head coach, director of operations, and administrative assistant in charge of recruiting at Georgia Tech.
