By leaving the show on its fourth day, comedian Mel Buttle surprised her fellow campmates on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Ms. Buttle, who is well-known as the co-host of The Great Australian Bake Off, wanted to leave the Australian rain forest. The comedian told the other contestants on the program that she signed up for the reality series in the expectation that it would allow her to resolve her long-held snake phobia.
Being out in the open, where snakes had been seen near the campsite, rather than battling her fears, the whole situation made her mind race and took a rapid toll on her mental health.
Ms. Buttle sought support from her fellow celebrities as she announced she could not proceed. She expressed her decision with the other contestants. Later, while speaking to Ten Play, the comedian said,
Once it became obvious to me that it was a real snake and what kind of snake it was I was on red alert. I had to keep my guard up, I wasn’t going to sleep,
From then, my mind just would not let the idea go that I was going to wake up covered in 16 snakes. I just couldn’t get over my phobia at that point once it became real and there was one quite close to where we sleep.
Australian comedian Mel Buttle was a fan favorite during the program, particularly for her dedication to Toni Pearen, the pop star of the 90s.
