Ex-Comanchero boss Mahmoud ‘Mick Hawi’ wife Carolina Gonzalez has paid tribute to her late husband after he was shot in the face in a targeted attack. Close family and friends attended the funeral where they paid their last tribute to Mick Hawi.

Mick Hawi wife Carolina Gonzalez remembered her husband as a true gentleman and a close friend of Mick Hawi in a statement said;

Former bikie boss Mahmoud Mick Hawi who was once convicted of the Sydney Airport murder has now been shot in the face in a targeted attack just after midday on Thursday at West Botany Street, Rockdale.

Mick Hawi got ambushed as he was inside his car inside the Fitness First car where he got attacked.

Mick Hawi was then rushed to St George Hospital and the crime scene has been established. NSW Ambulance Superintendent Greg Price said that Mick Hawi was in cardiac arrest when the paramedics had arrived at the crime scene. In the statement Greg Price said;

“Four paramedic units were on scene within seven minutes,” Superintendent Price said.

He also added;

“The patient was transported to hospital within six minutes from arrival on scene. “The scene was very confronting for emergency service personnel. The paramedics performed their role to a high standard.

There was a lot of chaos following the attack on Mick Hawi, Reshan Muthukrishna who has a clinic nearby talking about the incident said;

“Around 12pm we heard some big bangs, we thought it was some equipment being dropped. I stayed in the clinic and my colleague ran out, it was just chaos,”

Mick Hawi is a regular customer of the gym and considering the history of the gym, there have been some minor attacks. Mick Hawi and his guys often used to train at the gym. Following the incident, the gym now will remain closed for some days now.

“I’ve got staff who are traumatised, so it’s definitely not good for business … obviously it will affect the clientele; Fitness First clientele, my clientele, this place has even more of a reputation than before.”

Mick Hawi was also a murder convict back in year November 2011 where he was found guilty of murdering his rival, Anthony Zervas. Mick Hawi rival, Anthony Zervas was stabbed brutally in his chest and abdomen at the Sydney Airport on March 22, 2009.
