Paul Cosentino got interested in magic when he stumbled across a magic book in a library when he was a young boy. The illusionist had learning difficulties so his mother read the book to him.
In his interview with Sydney Morning Herald, he recalled, “When I was 12, Mum took me to the public library, 15 minutes from our home in Lysterfield, south-east of Melbourne. I found The Encyclopedia of Magic and was engrossed in its pictures. As an assistant school principal, Mum homed in on my interest.”
At the age of 13, Consentino was locked inside the house. That day he first learned lock picking. The Victoria-born magician says he gained confidence through his magic performances.
