American conservative talk radio host Philip Carr Valentine passed away at the age of 61 on 21 August 2021. His employer, WWTN Radio, announced the news on Twitter.

After contracting the virus, Phil Valentine changed his mind about refusing the COVID-19 vaccination. The talk show host had previously stated that, while he was not anti-vaxx, he did not want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine since he believed himself to be low-risk.

The host’s death comes more than a month after he revealed he had been diagnosed with Covid-19. Valentine was hospitalized in “very serious condition” in late July, with “Covid Pneumonia and the attendant side effects,” according to his relatives. On July 22, his brother Mark Valentine wrote,

In a July 26 interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, Mark Valentine said his brother was improving but was “still deep in the woods” and needed help breathing.
