Reggie Bird was born in Hobart, Tasmania. Bird and her husband Adrian ran a fish and chip restaurant in Cambridge, Tasmania, prior to competing as a competitor on the third season of the Network Ten reality television series Big Brother Australia in 2003.
A short time after the season finale, their marriage crumbled. Following her victory, Reggie teamed up with manager Harry M. Miller and shot the pilot episode of a TV show that was never shown. Later, she participated in the Skating on Thin Ice celebrity skating competition series on the 2005 Nine Network. Her “dream job” was working as a flight attendant for the airline Virgin Blue from December 2004 to May 2005.
However, she later quit, saying that her coworkers had bullied her. Bird was scammed out of $40,000 in 2005. She lived in Sydney for a while before moving to Melbourne.
