Damien Thomlinson, age 36, is a fighter who stood up even after losing both of his legs in Afghanistan, on April 4, 2009, while his armored vehicle drove over a Taliban roadside bomb. Damien Thomlinson wife is Madison Burgess and the couple got married in an intimate wedding ceremony attended by friends and family.

And during the treatment, the medical team did not believe that he would pull through. At that time, his arms had severe injuries, broken hands and wrists, dislocated shoulder and a broken nose.

The now-inspirational speaker had a trauma from the incident which pushed him to follow a different path. He said,

“I got to have that moment when you are down, whereas clichéd as it sounds, you get to look in the mirror and ask yourself, ‘what are you made of?'”

Thomlinson revealed that if it hadn’t been for his injuries, he would never pursue acting. He said,

“I was doing lots of motivational speaking afterward and I thought ‘this is great, I can survive doing this’. But what would I ultimately love to do that’s a challenge?”

“Acting presented that.” The former commando is also an actor as well as an author. He performed in the movies including, ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ (2016), ‘No Man’s Land’ (2017) and ‘ ‘Underbelly’ (2008).
