The meeting was called where the members of the Party voted for new the new leader. It was a narrow win for the candidate Scott Morrison against Peter Dutton in the leadership ballot of 45 to 40. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has resigned his post which will be taken by the new Liberal leader, Scott Morrison.

Following the leadership spill, a deputy leader was also voted on. The candidates for the deputy leader were Josh Frydenberg, Steven Ciobo, and Greg Hunt. Frydenberg has an easy victory against the two with a margin of 10 votes.
