According to police, the shooter who killed five people in South Carolina Wednesday evening, including a famous doctor, was former NFL star, Phillip Adams.
As per AP sources, Adams’ parents live near the doctor’s home in Rock Hill, and he has been treated by him. According to Channel 9, detectives were unable to prove the two had a doctor-patient relationship.
Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the York County coroner’s office, along with their grandchildren Adah, 9, and Noah, 5.
Tolson said Adams broke into Lesslie’s home on Wednesday afternoon and shot and killed Lesslie, his wife Barbara, and two of their grandchildren.

The NFL star Phillip Adams killed himself with a.45 caliber rifle around midnight, according to investigators. As per the coroner’s office, Adams’ cause of death is listed as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Adams, according to Tolson, left clues at the crime scene that led to his identification as a suspect. The search for him took nine hours and finished about a quarter-mile from his house, where he was discovered dead.
Phillip Adams NFL Criminal Charges
Sheriff Kevin Tolson of York County said Adams was given multiple small traffic citations in the county in February at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. He also said Adams was facing criminal charges in Mecklenburg County dating back to 2016. Tolson did not elaborate about the charges that are pending.
