Freemantle Dockers scored a mere 25 points against Geelong Cats 158 points. Fans were pouring their rage towards the coach in the social media demanding that Ross Lyon is sacked.

Ross Lyon Life and Career
Ross Lyon began his career as a footy in 1985 when he played for Fitzroy. He played the last five games of the season with Fitzroy, and continue to play for the team. However, after the first game of the new season in 1986, Ross Lyon suffered from groin and back injuries, which benched him for the seasons of 1986 and 1987.
Ross Lyon re-entered the field in 1988 after recovering from the injury and played all the games of the season. He played a total of 127 games in Fitzroy scoring 112 goals. In 1995 he transferred to Brisbane Bears where he retired after two games due to a knee problem. Ross Lyon is considered a fierce player known for his strong tackling and bumps.
After retiring as a footy, Ross Lyon entered a coaching career. He worked as an assistant coach to Robert Walls in 1996 at Richmond. In 2000, he moved to Carlton and worked as an assistant coach and club’s VF coach for five years. In 2005 and 2006, he played an instrumental role in helping the Swans reach the finals.
His coaching history with Swans earned him a place as a coach in St. Kilda Football Club in 2007. Lyon is the most successful coach of St. Kilda till now as he increased the percentage of winning record to 64.5%.
After retiring from St. Kilda in 2011, Ross Lyon joined Freemantle with the contract extending up to 2020.
