‘Woman’s Day’ slammed by the Australian media personality, Chrissie Swan for interrupting her children’s privacy.
The Australian Press Council found out the photos published by Woman’s Day at a McDonald’s drive-through. Due to which, it violated Swan family’s privacy.
Paparazzi took three images of the radio host and her children which later on published with the headline “It’s McHappy day! These guys must be doing their chores.”

The radio host complained about the article to the Australian Press Council saying that it affected her privacy. Also, she said that she didn’t want to reveal her children publicly.

“Ms. Swan said her complaint was not about the coverage of herself but of her young children.” “The photograph showed them in an unflattering light, one with a pacifier and a security blanket and another with a pacifier. She said the effect of the picture was to expose the children to ridicule.”
Woman’s day disagreed with Swan’s argument that she kept her children away from the public eye for the last five years.
There are various examples of doing so which includes her discussion about her children, throughout interviews in radio and television and mentioning about her children while hosting broadcast.
Moreover, in conclusion, APC said,
“The Council considers the article was likely to cause substantial distress to the family. In publishing the article with the unauthorized photograph of the children with their pacifiers and a security blanket visiting “Maccas” with the accompanying caption “ … caught on camera.”
