Ethan Browne grew up in a little town in New Zealand called Wairoa and still dreamed of becoming an actor from a young age. He is of Maori descent.
Mr. Browne enjoyed watching films as a child, particularly martial arts films, which ignited his early passion for acting and martial arts. For fun, he will also re-enact battle scenes with his brother and cousins in the backyard.
The actor grew up in a musical family and from a young age, started to play different instruments, playing in bands during his teen years.

Mr. Browne decided to take acting lessons in his early 20s while staying in Brisbane. He was admitted to NIDA ten months later and transferred to Sydney to continue his training.

I grew up in a small country town that was dominated by rugby culture. Acting wasn’t the thing a man would do,’

I wanted to do it in high school but it was frowned upon by the boys, that sort of culture, it wasn’t the tough masculine thing to do.
