They started Good Ventures in 2011

In a 2014 Washington Post feature, Tuna, 31, noted that while many Silicon Valley donors make decisions based on a specific cause, she couldn’t choose one. She and her husband started Good Ventures in 2011 to promote human well-being. They have provided funds to UC Berkeley and ReFrame Mentorship through their Open Philanthropy Project. In December 2011, the pair made their first contribution to GiveWell, donating $50,000. Their purpose is to help humanity thrive and address a variety of concerns.

Tuna’s LinkedIn profile states that she earned a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University in 2008. She writes for the Yale Daily News. Almost immediately after graduating, she began reporting for the Wall Street Journal, situated in the San Francisco Bay area.

She continued with the newspaper until April 2011. Tuna met Moskovitz while reporting on Silicon Valley, according to Inside Philanthropy.

Tuna is from Minnesota

Cari Tuna was born in Minnesota. She was the eldest of three children raised by two doctors in Evansville, Indiana, where she attended Signature School. She was the student council president, formed an Amnesty International chapter, and co-valedictorian.

Moskowitz and Tuna donated $20 million

Moskowitz and Tuna donated $20 million to multiple PACs, with half going to the LCV Victory Fund and the other half to For Our Future PAC, which each received $5 million. Other organizations on their list include the Hillary Victory Fund, the DSCC, the DCCC, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund, the For Our Future PAC, MoveOn.org Political Action, and the Color of Change PAC.

Moskovitz admits that there may be criticism and hypotheses about their goals, but they are steadfast in their honesty and love for America and the world. He intends to donate an additional $8 million to other PACs and $7 million to nonpartisan voter registration drives.
