AFL Footy Show host Sam Newman on a recent statement said he might be quitting The Footy Show. On Thursday night show Sam Newman on his opening statement hinted his thoughts on quitting the show following worst ratings in the show’s 25-year history.

In his statement last night Sam Newman said;

“And they can’t tell me if I’ll be part of the show next year if it’s on or if I’ll be part of a different show if it’s on. So, on the off chance – listen to those words – on the off chance that this show is not on next year this is the opportune time to say what I’m about to say…

AFL Footy Show host Sam Newman who is famously known for showcasing his skills both as a host and as a retired Australian Rules football player is now considering running for Melbourne Lord Mayor.

After Robert Doyle, Former Lord Mayor of Melbourne resigned amid sexual harassment allegations Sam Newman is considering the run for the next  Lord Mayor. In his statement, he gave to Herald Sun he said;

“The first thing I’d do is invite anyone out there who thinks that I might have been part of some sexual harassment over my career to come forward before we embark on any public office,”

It is also said that Sam Newman is an admirer of US president Donald Trump and in the same statement he said;

“drain the swamp” that is the City of Melbourne

he also added;

“We get bogged down with political groups that monopolise most of the time in discussions so that nothing really gets done,”

Sam Newman decision running for the next Lord Mayor of Melbourne was decided when one of the member close to the council asked him to raise his hand and Newman seriously took the suggestion. In his statement he said;

“I was asked to have a go at it, so I always think about things I’m asked to do, which is always sensible I think,”

Sam Newman main agenda would be prioritized for homelessness and graffiti people and the overall security, he said;

“Giving the homeless people who block up all the doorways and parks and spaces in there an alternative,”  “[And] security of the people that go into the city, making sure it’s as clean as it can be by solidly getting onto and really nailing people who graffiti it and deface it.”
