Bindi Irwin took to Instagram with her family in tow to share the devastating news that their beloved Rhinoceros iguana, Rhino, had passed away. Joining Bindi in her grief were her brother Robert, mother Terri, and husband Chandler, as they paid a heartfelt tribute to their precious pet. The Irwin family was left heartbroken by the loss of their scaly friend, who had brought them so much joy over the years.

Living a life that was more than four decades long, Rhino the beloved rhinoceros of Australia Zoo had been a loyal companion to the Irwin family for over 25 years! From the moment Terri and Steve said theirI do‘s in 1992, Rhino had become an integral part of the family, bringing joy and laughter to all who encountered him.

Throughout his many years of service, Rhino never once failed to put a smile on everyone‘s face, and even in his old age, he still had a sparkle in his eye. He was an amazing creature that will be remembered forever.

Bindi, eyes filled with tears, clutched Rhino‘s ashes close to her heart as she spoke of her beloved pet. Though Terri stood by her side, providing comfort, Bindi‘s sorrow was so intense that it seemed no amount of consolation could lessen her grief. Every word Bindi spoke was laced with anguish, and it was clear that the pain of losing Rhino was almost unbearable. Giving her heartfelt condolence to her pet Bindi said;

“I’m gonna work really hard on not crying, but I’m immediately gonna cry,”

she added;

“It is with a very heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to Rhino, but we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to be able to share him one last time with you guys,”

Rhino, the legendary iguana born in 1980, has earned himself a place in the Guinness World Records as the oldest living iguana, Truly a remarkable accomplishment!

Rhinoceros iguanas are a rare sight found only on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, where their dwindling numbers have made them an endangered species. With a population of around 10,000 to 16,000, these majestic creatures have been gifted with a remarkable feature a bony horn, which makes them resemble their namesake rhinoceros!
