In 2016, Mr. Kennerley became quadriplegic when he slipped off a balcony at Bonville Golf Resort in Coffs Harbour. The incident took place during the annual Ladies Masters Tournament.
In addition to that, he damaged his spinal cord as well as fracturing his neck. After the accident, John went into coma however he was unable to move or talk.
