Karen Clifton first appeared on tv screen on the sixth season of the American reality TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. Being married at the time, she auditioned along with her first husband Matthew Hauer. While Karen lasted till week 5 of the show, her husband couldn’t make it at top 20 during Vegas elimination.
After ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, Karen moved to the British reality show, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. She participated in the tenth season of the reality show in 2012 with Westlife’s Nicky Byrne. Together with her partner, she reached week 10 before getting eliminated.
Following year saw Karen Clifton partnered with Hairy Bikers’ Dave Myers. They were eliminated in week seven, not before Dave Myers taught a thing or two to the professional dancer. Next year, she partnered with ‘The Only Way is Essex’ reality tv star, Mark Wright. The couple made it to the final week before getting eliminated at last.
In 2015, Karen Clifton returned with new partner Jeremy Vine on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. Unfortunately, they were eliminated on the eighth week. 2016 was rather difficult for Karen, as her partner Will Young withdrew from the competition just after four weeks. In 2017, she partnered with Simon Riemmer. However, they were eliminated in the sixth week.

Her ex-husband Matthew Hauer is also a dancer and has participated with her in ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2009. Being married to Matthew, Karen had taken his last name. She was Karen Hauer before divorcing her husband.
Shortly, after divorcing with her first husband, she fell in love with Kevin Clifton. In 2013, Karen Clifton and Kevin Clifton got engaged. Kevin proposed her on the stage of ‘Burn the Floor’. Two years later, in 2015, they married with a grand wedding ceremony. After the wedding, Karen took her husband’s last name.
However, their marriage was short lived. Though they were brought close together by dancing, it became the reason for the end of their marriage.
