Just like other parents, Laura shared the news of her son through her Twitter account. And she named her son after the intrepid explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

In 2018, around May, Laura had to go on a perilous expedition with her two other female adventurers. From the source of Guyana’s Essequibo river to the sea, they were attempting to kayak the 620-mile journey.
However, Laura Bingham had to leave her son with husband Ed Stafford in Hallaton, Leicestershire. Not only that, Laura also admitted that people may question her decision.
She said,
“It’s normal for a husband to go away for work or to serve in the military but when a woman goes away it gets noticed a lot more,”
“Of course it was hard leaving Ranulph at home while I went away but Ed is a great dad. I’m keen to show you can strike a balance and achieve your personal goals while being a good mum.”
