In most of the criminal cases, a murderer goes into hiding without any traces. However, some criminal gets caught whereas, others roam in disguise.

The mystery of murdered Brazilian woman Cecilia Haddad is now on the surface. And the prime suspect for Cecilia Haddad cause of death is none other than her former boyfriend, Mario Marcelo Santoro.

Police arrested Cecilia Haddad boyfriend Mario Marcelo Santoro who was watching the soccer World Cup in a family apartment. Other than that, Cecilia Haddad boyfriend Mario Marcelo Santoro was hiding at a relative’s house in the upmarket Rio de Janeiro suburb of Botafogo.

Without any resistant during the arrest, Mr. Santoro told police officers:

“I ended my life”. Meanwhile, the officers who arrested him said that “he did not behave like an innocent man.”

Brazilian police issued an arrest warrant with high-level negotiations with Canberra. They faced a complicated process to deport him to stand trial.

Rio police said that Mr. Santoro had accusations of killing Cecilia Muller Haddad in April in Sydney, Australia. On April 29, at Woolwich, kayakers found Ms. Haddad dead body floating in the Lane Cove River.

And on April 28, Mario Marcelo Santoro changed his flights to return home to Brazil early to late. Just two weeks before her death, Ms. Haddad and Mr. Santoro lived together in Ryde until she reportedly asked him to move out.

When police contacted Mr. Santoro on his mobile phone, they caught some photos of him along with his two children in Rio de Janeiro. Moreover, Mr. Santoro’s family said that he returned a bit early only to visit his sick father.

Mario Marcelo Santoro Cecilia Haddad Cause Of Death?

Brazillian police picked up the case when they found the violent cause of Ms. Haddad’s death after going through post-mortem report.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, Dr. Fabio Cordoso said,

“The post-mortem reported that she died from mechanical asphyxia from the constriction of the neck, or she was strangled to death. That was enough for us to know that she was murdered and didn’t suffer an accident. So we started out an investigation.”

After reportedly receiving a search warrant, Homicide police searched Santoro’s apartment at Copacabana beach as well as his relative’s properties.

In an emotional interview with The Australian, Ms. Haddad’s mother Milu Muller- through a translator, she described Mr. Santoro as a “monster” who had lived off the earnings of her daughter.

Cecilia Haddad Wiki-Bio

Cecilia Haddad was a former Supply Chain Manager whose age was just 38 when she died. In the year 2002, Ms. Haddad graduated with a Bachelors in Business, Logistics from  Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Later on, she did her Masters in Industrial Engineering specializing Logistics in 2007. In the different areas like supply, logistics, and marketing, Ms. Haddad gained over fourteen years of experience.

She was the daughter of Milu Muller and Jose Ibrahim Haddad. Her father and estranged husband are launching court action for Ms. Haddad’s estate. To be the administrator of the estate, her father filed a civil claim in the NSW Supreme Court.

On the other hand, her ex-husband Felipe Torres also made an application after his lawyer received “special letters of administration” on his behalf.
